Vibrant Entertainer

Doris Hector aka “Brown Sugar/The Original Brown Sugar” hails from a little farm town in Monroe County (Tunnel Springs) ,Ala. As most blues artist do, she started singing in the church choir as young as 6 years old.

She moved to Mobile, AL. in 1979. She worked for several years with Larry Sanders, the brother of once local recording artist; Lynn White.

Along with a local band Brown Sugar  became well known and was often the opening act for several professional blues artists past and present Eg. (Tyrone Davis; Denise LaSalle; Lattimore; and Betty Wright).

She moved to Harker Heights, Tx. in 1997 where she continued to perform with local bands from the Killeen and Greater Austin Metropolitan Area of Texas. As a lead female vocalist Brown Sugar was quickly sought after to stir the crowds and increase ticket sales like no other. She continues to open for other local and regionally known artists’ such as Kenne’ Wayne; Mel Waiters, Marvin Sease; Peggy Scott-Adams and Bigg Robb. She is now  on a venture with  recording artists' (The Band of Brothers) of Austin, Tx . under the executive direction of of Better Believe Production. https://www.betterbelieveproduction.com

With the blues in her soul, she wants to go out and try the world.. If God sees fit to magnanimously bless her music career, she will certainly accept it humbly, and graciously. Because after all without Him [GOD], nothing would nor will be.
